Lone Peak High School (LPHS) is a public high school in Highland, Utah, United States. Part of the Alpine School District, in northern Utah County, it was built in 1997 to serve students in the cities of Alpine, Highland, and Cedar Hills. Lone Peak High School was given athletic 5A status beginning at the 2005-2006 school year. However, it has since been given a 6A status. The school mascot is a knight.

Academics

Lone Peak offers several honors classes and AP courses, as well as off-campus classes at nearby colleges such as Brigham Young University, University of Utah, Utah Valley University, and business and technical colleges.

Athletics

Lone Peak sponsors several interscholastic teams for both boys and girls: basketball, cross country, soccer, swimming, tennis, golf, and track and field. For boys there are teams competing in baseball, football, and wrestling. Girls may also compete in cheerleading, drill team, softball, and volleyball.[4]

The 2013 boys' basketball team was ranked as the top team in the nation by numerous ranking systems including USA Today and MaxPreps, thus crowning them national champions.[12] Lone Peak's biggest rivals are American Fork High School and Skyridge High School.

Speech and Debate

The Lone Peak Speech and Debate Team has become one of the most accomplished and fastest growing Speech and Debate Teams in Utah. In just 2 years the head coach-Michelle Walker-has taken the Speech and Debate Team from 6 students to nearly 40. Michelle Walker has revived the Speech and Debate team at Lone Peak-after a falling out with the last Speech and Debate coach. The Team in the year of 2022-2023 won both Knights Joust, and Districts, while notably placing 2nd at Charger Challenge, and more importantly 6th at State with only 13 out of the 30 possible entries.
