Monroe Township is one of twelve townships in Adams County, Indiana.^[2] As of the 2020 census, its population was 5,287,^[1] up from 4,858 at the 2010 census.^[3]

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 36.39 square miles (94.2 km²), of which 36.34 square miles (94.1 km²) (or 99.86%) is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 km²) (or 0.14%) is water.^[4]
