Salehabad (Persian: صالح آباد)[a] is a city in the Central District of Salehabad County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 8,280 in 1,877 households, when it was in the former Salehabad District of Torbat-e Jam County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 9,642 people in 2,240 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 8,625 people in 2,198 households.[2]

In 2017, Salehabad District was separated from Torbat-e Jam County in the establishment of Salehabad County, which was divided into two districts and five rural districts, with Salehabad as its capital.[4]
