Phyllodactylus xanti est une espèce de geckos de la famille des Phyllodactylidae^[1].

Répartition

Cette espèce se rencontre ^[1] :

aux États-Unis dans le Sud de la Californie ;
au Mexique en Basse-Californie, en Basse-Californie du Sud et dans le Sonora.

Étymologie

Cette espèce est nommée en l'honneur de John Xantus de Vesey^[3]. La sous-espèce Phyllodactylus xanti zweifeli est nommée en l'honneur de Richard George Zweifel^[3] et la sous-espèce Phyllodactylus xanti sloani est nommée en l'honneur d'Allan John Sloan^[3].

Systématique et taxinomie

Les espèces Phyllodactylus angelensis^[4], Phyllodactylus apricus^[4], Phyllodactylus santacruzensis^[4] et Phyllodactylus tinklei^[4] et les sous-espèces Phyllodactylus xanti acorius^[4], Phyllodactylus xanti angulus^[4], Phyllodactylus xanti circus^[4], Phyllodactylus xanti coronatus^[4] et Phyllodactylus xanti estebanensis^[4] ont été placées en synonymie avec Phyllodactylus xanti par Larry Lee Grismer en 1999^[5].
