David Dumville

David Norman Dumville (5 maggio 1949) è uno storico e docente britannico del Medioevo e del mondo celtico.

Ha studiato all'Emmanuel College, a Cambridge, alla Ludwig-Maximilian Universität di Monaco. Ha ottenuto il suo dottorato all'Università di Edimburgo nel 1976. Nel 1974 ha sposato Sally Lois Hannay, da cui ebbe un figlio. La moglie è morta nel 1989. È attualmente professore di storia e paleontologia all'Università di Aberdeen, ma ha insegnato anche in molte altre prestigiose università.
