Gene Harris (født 1. september 1933, Benton Harbor, Michigan, død 16. januar 2000) var en amerikansk jazzpianist kjent for sin varme lyd, og sin blues- og gospel-influerte stil, kjent som soul jazz.

Fra 1956 til 1970 spilte han i The Three Sounds trio med bassisten Andy Simpkins og trommeslager Bill Dowdy. I løpet av denne tida spilte The Three Sounds jevnlig inn plater for Blue Note og Verve.^[5] Han bodde for det meste som pensjonist i Boise, Idaho, fra slutten av 1970-tallet, selv om han regelmessig spilte på det nærliggende Idanha Hotel. Deretter overbeviste Ray Brown ham om dra tilbake på turne i 1980. Han spilte med Ray Brown Trio og ledet deretter egne grupper, som for det meste spilte inn plater for Concord Records, inntil hans død av nyresvikt i 2000.

Harris' "Ode to Billie Joe" er kjent som en jazzklassiker. En av hans mest populære numrene var hans "Battle Hymn of the Republic", en live-versjon som er på albumet hans Live at Otter Crest, utgitt av Concord.
