James Oliver Rigney Jr. (n. , Charleston, Carolina de Sud, SUA – d. , Charleston, Carolina de Sud, SUA), mai bine cunoscut sub pseudonimul Robert Jordan, a fost un scriitor american de literatură fantastică epică. Este cel mai cunoscut pentru seria Roata timpului, care cuprinde 14 cărți și un roman prequel. Este unul dintre scriitorii care au scris romanele originale cu Conan Barbarul; romanele sale fiind foarte apreciate până în ziua de azi.[13] Rigney a scris și ficțiune istorică sub pseudonimul său Reagan O'Neal, western ca Jackson O'Reilly și critică a dansului ca Chang Lung. În plus, el a scris un „thriller internațional” despre care încă se crede că a fost scris de altcineva.[14][15][16][17][18]
